"I contacted Cara in desperation after two years of trying to navigate boxes and boxes of my parents’ documents, photographs, and textiles, taking up real estate in my house and in my head, after my father’s death and the sale of the family home. It was the best decision ever: cathartic, empowering, liberating and life-changing. I would even venture to say it was a form of grief therapy, unpacking all those boxes with Cara by my side, gently guiding and nudging with terrific suggestions that never imposed. Along the way, I realized there was a lot of unpacking and organizing to do with my own piles of clutter which was in line with my objective to not leave my only child with the burden of my mess.
